A Kiwi Pastime

When you think work is a bottomless pit, try bungy-jumping.

Red Alfa free-falling

You'll get a different perspective plunging headlong into an abyss.

Munie diving

But first make sure the rope is made from Malaysian rubber like this one.

After the swing

"How was it?" I asked hubby

"Indescribable... and I think I strained my back"

"How was it?" I asked Munie

"Kerja gila lah.... but I want to do it again"

So they went to do the bungy swing!

Just before the swing

They nailed it - my king and my princess!

And how else to celebrate their fearlessness than by a quiet picnic by the shores of the serenely beautiful Wakatipu.

We did ablutions here

After which we set off for the northern tip of the lake where lies Glenorchy - a few miles from the little town of Paradise

Zen,
I will never try the bungee jump for fear of straining my fragile bones. Not at this level of my fitness anyway.
Hope to see more pictures of NZ's beauty. The place where you did the ablution was awesome.

Salam Pak Zawi & kay_leeda

Bungy jump like some experience we would probably have read and were learning from what many have lots said and then we got to imagine much more .... way before finally getting it done!

Then when we finally got to experience it first time, it was an achievement, a success of sorts, coming away with the feeling THAT ONE experience shouldn't be the last and that more and the best are yet to come!

...like one's VERY FIRST sex experience??

For Pak Zawi, your first Haj experience, perhaps?

Cats, the zorb might be less frightening but maybe more nausea-inducing?

TM, hubby and Munie agreed that at one point the brain becomes absolutely rational and realised the foolhardiness of their jumps :)

AlhamdulilLah, Thanks guys for saying how "youthful" I looked! I suppose we become young again (but not quite the 2nd childhood we wished for) when we want to do what young 'uns like my Munie just do naturally.

Tommy, I didn't get my ankles bound as usual for bungy jumping because I had wanted to dance the splits as I free fall...

But Wan, I had been too preoccupied wondering WHY was there NO STOPPING the free fall... that I didn't get to do any fancy footwork!
