Be Glad Your Nose is on Your Face

 by Jack Prelutsky
Be glad your nose is on your face,
not pasted on some other place,
for if it were where it is not,
you might dislike your nose a lot.

Imagine if your precious nose
were sandwiched in between your toes,
that clearly would not be a treat,
for you'd be forced to smell your feet.

Your nose would be a source of dread
were it attached atop your head,
it soon would drive you to despair,
forever tickled by your hair.

Within your ear, your nose would be
an absolute catastrophe,
for when you were obliged to sneeze,
your brain would rattle from the breeze.

Your nose, instead, through thick and thin,
remains between your eyes and chin,
not pasted on some other place--
be glad your nose is on your face!

You're glad your nose is on your face,
Not pasted at THAT other place,
For at the rose-bush where you sit,
It pricks more than just a little bit!!!

Tommy

P/S - Nice to see u took my advice with that professor profile pic :)

Tommy, japs should stick to singing siirree rove songs in nihongo, but thanks for the thought anyway.

Re my profile pic, today's my blog 1-year anniversary - so I've let the pic age 30 years. Also my baju kurung in the pic has tiger-stripes design - so, quite appropriate for the year I thought. Plus am taking Unk Lee's advice to behave myself this year. Haha see how it goes.

I have RM1.10 angpow for you to collect, crouching. Tell me when :)

xox - stands for? Should I blush hihihi? (ooops behave, behave)

Gotta go - this evening's Arabian coffee starting to wear off

Zen..I can't imagine it elsewhere..how to clean the nostrils and chase away the bugs from making a nest there??

Yoo !.
A morning shave and a look
in the mirrorsay it's true.

I'm 60and my nose is growing
pretty old.

It starts about 1/4 an inch
below the bridge and strolls geriatrically down
for another 3/4 inch or so:
stopping.

Fortunately, the rest
of the nose is comparatively
soft but the mind still bold.

I wonder if ladies
will want me with an
old rusty nose ?.

I can hear them now
the pretty ladies !.

"He's cute but his nose
is too bloody old." hohohoo !.

Zendra-Maria said...

Hahaaha Doc, let's suggest that nosey people should keep their noses in their pockets ;)

Zendra-Maria said...

mamasita, if we could just take off our noses every so often, have them vacuumed and then re-attached, wouldn't that be something? HAHAHA how gross...

Zendra-Maria said...

You're glad your nose is on your face,
Though old it is that's no disgrace,
Three-quarters of an inch you did measure?
Be thankful Capt., for it can only be for Bib to treasure...
