สบาย สบาย - Sabai Sabai - It's OK

Sunday night I learnt that there's something else Thai  I like very much besides Tomyum.

And it's all due to kama's sultry rendition of this delightful Thai song called Sabai Sabai  at her karaoke sarang at the Lake Club, Kuala Lumpur (not Putrajaya).

Oh, kama and Pak Abu had hosted a bloggers' get-together to celebrate the birthday of the one and only mamasita mamamia - who'll probably blog all about it soon, in fact I'm sure she will.

Meantime why don't you sing along to the youtube version -  it's a mouthful for me and am still not sabai-sabai yet....

If we like each other then we'll go together.

Oh! I haven't heard this song for a long time. Love it! Thanks, Zen :)

You should have heard Puteri, Naz - better than the original - straight from the heart kind *woop-woop*

Aunty Zendra,
Err...post the video lorrr!!! purrr...meow!

NanaDJ said...

Zen,
Puteri can beat some of our so called singers hands down. She is so versatile, I only have to mention Keroncong and before you know it there she was with "Sepasang Mata Bola". Next time I must ask her to sing "Sampul Surat".
I have heard her sing Sabai Sabai at our previous session and fell in love with the song

Cat,
I was too saplai

plus camera tak bawak mai

meowai!!!

Psst NanaDJ, I think it was this song that won Pak Abu over or was it vice-versa?

Yes she must do the "Sampul Surat" song and I bet rock-and-roll is just another piece of cake for her.... speaking of which, the birthday cake was simply perfect - smooth, velvety, and subtly flavoured - perfecto! Thanks NanaDJ - dapat kat mana yer?

mamasita, first time I heard it was that night, am surprised that thai numbers can be kinda catchy - most that I heard, and not that many tho, all were so grating to the ears like this one we do for line-dancing:

Hot Chilli Chacha

But my perception changed overnight

Sa-baai Zen,

Wah the guy sang that song with so much feeling & the lyrics r quite meaningful too, but I still don’t get whether it’s a ‘breakup’ song or’ please don’t leave me song’ or ‘love me just as I am’ song; very Confucius lah.

If only all of us can say ‘It’s ok, doesn’t matter lah’, the world will be a better place. It’s like I said. “It’s ok, I like u and when the time comes, I’ll make it quick & painless so u don’t have to suffer more than it’s required.”….muahaha.

Here’s another Confucius message from Women;

It’s NOT Right but it’s OK

Why lah like that one????

Cheers,
Tommy

P/S – Glad u ladies had a great time at Mamasita birthday bash.

**stat: It’s ok Zen, sometime a lot of us make typo error too ‘tomyum’, as if….kekeke.

So which song did you sing that night, Kak Zen?

Unknown said...

..hi, zen, if lady kama can sing sabai-sabai and u rate it as straight from the heart, then she is more Bird than Bird Thongchai...and somehow I am not surprised...it is to be expected from that versatile lady..would love to hear her sing this..

helen reddy's you r my world

..a fav of mine as a youth..but like oldstock, I too wondered..so what song did you sing?..:)

..seeing you guys having fun, sometimes I wished I am still as mobile as I was before..when KL is just over the hill...:)cheersw

Sa-baai Tommy, aiyah just like you to over-analyse a simple song - didn't you see it's a zen number? It's beyond basal feelings - everything is sabai maaa, right is sabai, wrong also sabai - just accept whatever.... because there is only love for/from THE ONE hehehe

PS you'll know what is TOM YUM when I condense you into a cube and pop you in boiling water.... kakaka

Tommy Yewfigure said...

Hey Oldstock / Pakmat, I think since Zen was accompanied by her 2 lovely princesses, I sure they belt out this song that both u 2 old timers probably would have a clue about but not me I’m always that fly on the wall eavesdropping….kakaka

Come on Barbie, let's go party!

Cheers,
Tommy

Zendra-Maria said...

Oldstock, lama tak singgah? Kak Zen tak nyanyi, I just lip-sync'd whilst mamasita and Ezza (blogger of terkenangkenang fame) doled out their dulcet tones :)

Zendra-Maria said...

Pakmat, our Lady Kama was simply impressive you SHOULD have been there! I believe she's able to carry any genre from anywhere in the world - and Helen Reddy? kacang!!!

Waaah I should be her agent...

Well, if you're no longer that mobile maybe I can arrange for Lady to make an appearance in any upmarket karaoke lounge in KB? Let me know, hahahah!!!

Zendra-Maria said...

Barbie, Tommy? Naaah.... they couldn't find Lady Gaga's Bad Romance on the list, so they belasah'd Carpenters' "Top of the World" and Carole King's "I Feel The Earth Move". And if you all really must know, Ezza (and I) did Stevie's "I Just Called" *bows*

Tommy Yewfigure said...

How very sweet, ‘You just called to say I love u’…awwww Now I’m feeling on ‘Top of the World’ & definitely ‘feeling the earth moved’ too…kekeke. But sad to say I’m a really2 a;

BAD Influence

So I don't blame u if u main juah2 lah :((

Tommy

P/S - Your daughters really2 got potential by the look of those photos at mamasita. Very natural with full of charisma ;) kudos. The mummy? well errr it's sabaai lah!

Tommy,
Chips of the old dotdotdot my kids are you know... after all they didn't call me Mariah Curryzma for nothing hehehaha

Fadhil said...

Kak Zen,

Something came up that put me off blogging (posting and blog-hopping) for a while. I probably need to join you guys for singing session just to take my mind off things...

Kama At-Tarawis said...

wah, this thread very rancak wan. we had fun, didn't we zen? your 2 princesses... i love their showmanship! and oldstock.. come come, I'm waiting for the opportunity to invite you.

Zendra-Maria said...

Awww Oldstock, it's your new job isn't it? But never mind, Dr Zen says melalak is the best therapy for conditions such as yours and who the best to administer this - none other than our very own Lady Kama! You've seen her very affirmative reply, so... wait no longer yeah!?

Zendra-Maria said...

Kama, thanks so much to you and Pak Abu for hosting us... we really had a BLAST! Errmm.. the girls showmanship was just to cover their lack in the singing department hehehe.. tapi takut jugak saham depa jatuh lepas ni :}

DrSam said...

walauwee kanda. Of course, even the bestest tomyum would not wet your appetite as you 'sabai-sabaied' with the two undisputed top karaoke champion :)

Zendra-Maria said...

Doc, it was a very surreal feeling which overcame me when kama sabai-sabaied. If only I had hot spicy Tom Yum to slurp on at the same time... that would really have transported me... maybe Up Over to Patong Beach or Haadyai or Krabi... hmmmm
